Nice work Dan! Both will be very proud of you :)
Hi Jules, hows the training...your blog is looking rather bare, you better start letting us all know how you are going, how many blisters you have, how many miles you are getting under your belt...the Yurkey is trying to get some updates so he can decide who will be looking after him next year , keep it up my man

Training is really starting to build and the body seems to be holding up well so far. This month will see about 200k of running, close to 1,000k of cycling and around 25k of swimming !!! My first event is only 20 days away. The Ashburton Half Ironman which consists of a 2k swim 90k ride and 21k run. Cant wait !!!
For those that don't know my version of Mal's 7 in 7 is the big 5. This consists of:
1 x Half Ironman
1 x Half Marathon (day 1 of 7 in 7)
1 x 38 off road run (day 4 of 7 in 7)
1 x triple long bays (those in CHCH will know what that is, for those that don't its a 200k + hilly bike ride)
1 x Wanaka Ironman 3.8k Swim 180k Bike and 42k Marathon Run....
Are you growing the beard for the races, just to add that wind drag....
With trainings like that, would it be too much to ask if you could carry my water bladder on the run...
The Yurkey speaks...its says it likes the outlook from your mantle piece, over looking the bays....
Only a week now to my first event and the nerves are starting to show. I am wondering how the body will back up with 3 of the 5 events in a 2 week period. Nothing compared to what Mal will be going through mind you doing 7 huge runs in 7 days. Some of the emails and feedback I have had are truly inspiring, especially hearing peoples battles with Cancer. It still blows me away how many people this insidious disease effects. It is certainly powerful motivation to get out the door and smash the legs one more time......
Jules
Just read your upcoming trainings.
The Yurkey likes the view from your mantlepiece.... out over the bay, says he is ready for change!
He reckons he feels change in the air, change!....not if I can help it,
Keep it up my man
