Introduction

On November 28 this year I am going to run over 40km for the Leukemia and Blood Foundation. This run will leave Lake Hawea and finish near Lake Wanaka.
Every day in my work as a Paramedic I meet people who live with terminal illnesses such as Leukemia, and they live with dignity, honesty and sincerity. These wonderful people humble me with the luck I have been given of good health, and so in return I am trying to give something back, to do something that I know I will find excruciating.
Mal Law has inspired me to do something I never thought I would do. I am going to run a marathon, and help him to raise over $150,000 for the LBF. I need your help. Can you put aside todays coffee money? Instead, help me help the Leukemia and Blood Foundation to continue to help their patients live with the dignity they do.

Event date:Sunday 28/11/10

Dedication

I am dedicating this run to all the people I have met who have battled with terminal illness, who have lived their lives with dignity and grace. You are my inspiration.

Training run this morning was awesome. I tell ya what, living in Laingholm means training in the Waitakeres, and that....is a good thing! Today was a short/easy run according to my training programme, and I enjoyed every minute of it! Go on...get out there!

I have to say, the support I am receiving is amazing. Thanks so much to everyone that has donated so far, you guys are making it mean so much more, and its got to be said, that your support means that on a day like today, when its pouring down in west auckland, I am lacing my shoes and still running out the door. 10km in the rain is about to go off!

So I just went for a wonderful run through the wilds of Huia on a blustery wintery day with a wonderful friend, and the best dog in the world. Followed by cheese toastys, soup, slippers and a spa....Perfect much?
