Introduction

I have been off road running for 6 years and really enjoy the opportunity to meet people and see more of NZ so the chance to not only challenge myself in a fabulous environment but more importantly to help make a difference in the lives of people affected by cancer is one that I cannot turn away from. We all know of people who have suffered greatly from this disease either directly or indirectly and have seen the devastation and despair it creates but also the resolute fighting attitude and spirit shown which makes our own worries seem like nothing which they really are.
I am privileged to be able to show my support for Mal's vision and belief by joining day 6 of his odyssey through the Southern Lakes area on the Greenstone-Mavora walkway which is a mere snip at 55km.
Nothing would give me greater satisfaction than to know that by the act of finishing the run, patients and families living with leukaemia will benefit directly.
